Left Behind is a 2014 apocalyptic drama film directed by Vic Armstrong, based on the best-selling novel of the same name written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. The movie takes place in the fictional town of Nicolae Carpathia, where millions of people suddenly vanish during the Rapture, leaving behind a small group of survivors. The story begins with Buck Williams (Nicolas Cage), a pilot who is on his way to a meeting when he experiences a series of strange occurrences that hint at the approaching apocalypse.
