In ancient China during the Tang Dynasty, Wu Jing (Fengsheng) is a brilliant and ambitious general who has earned the respect of his emperor. As the king's trusted advisor, Wu is tasked with protecting the empire's borders from foreign invasions while keeping a watchful eye on one of the king's sons, Li Chucheng. Li is a charming but reckless prince who has caught the attention of Wu's daughter, Princess Qing'e.
