Plot

In the dusty, sun-scorched town of Oak Hill, Kentucky, a legend has quietly slumbered, waiting for his next big scoring opportunity. The air is alive with whispers of an occurrence: one infamous man's presence in town has the potential to shatter lives and forever change the course of Oak Hill's events. As the most dreaded man in the American West breaches the confines of this once-peaceful landscape, a tempest is brewing, and the tempest's gusty ferocity signals a possible clash in gunpowder and steel. William Haden is perhaps the most elusive figure in the territory, having risen to infamy through brutally eliminating those who dispute him. He and his loyal brother, Zachary, are enmeshed in an intricate web of respect and loyalty – unbreakable chains forged through shared hardship and bloodshed. William, the younger, the skilled, and deadly of the two brothers, has honed his skills on the streets, making use of guile and precision. His reputation has caught wind and galloped quickly to distant territories, making it simple for the authorities to label him 'the most wanted man in the United States'. William knows that the fleeting nature of his life calls for him to assume a mask and assume another identity. Under the careful shroud of disguise, he burrows himself into the heart of Oak Hill, casting an innocuous gaze over the tranquility surrounding him. To the untrained eye, the 'quiet William' appears to blend seamlessly into the fabric of Oak Hill. A disarming calmness characterizes him as he takes to watching; the atmosphere relaxes little by little in the streets he walks, ever on the look-out for possible intruders. Tragedy, however, hovers over the horizon, watching William's move with calculating patience. Luke O'Bannion, Oak Hill's leading businessman and a crony of a former U.S. president, develops a fixation on William Haden's perceived insignificance within Oak Hill. It ignites in Luke O'Bannion an insatiable curiosity within his heart. To Luke and his underhand circle of agents, snipers and bounty hunters from around the land, William's mere appearance here is confirmation that the opportunity has finally come. If they managed to catch William, the price for that discovery would be out of their wildest dreams. William knows how calamitous the consequences of being captured can be – why, he's seen men fall from the skies following hours of escape attempts and failed breakouts. William keeps on playing vigilant, for every night in this confined surroundings has him on the run; one breath away from perpetual silence, a fate many dreamers – at the wrong side – dare consider. Those townspeople suspect that a most unsettling history had shadowed William, and because they knew that in this gloom there lay only an unstoppable revenge, people, terrified and unblinking, back away. Their hesitance falls under consideration when William takes immediate action in Oak Hill; when an enigmatic message reaches the right ears about William Haden's coming through the unbridled roar of rumors – there's a desperate thirst for a mythical hero living in those small hills miles away – where the rugged surroundings breed an opportunity, there unfolds chaos, giving William his moment as more restless souls spring instantly from hiding. Enshrined men – part of a ragtag band – emerge swiftly, sensing this particular odyssey's inevitable fall – every time bloodlust invades minds in these scorching mid-days under bright blue clouds with gusts so bold in the direction where Oak Hill can indeed be felt. And then, there is this realization in Oak Hill - it eventually unravels when the night clouds encroach: William Haden has the possibility of reuniting with his older brother, Zack, whose reckless mistake jeopardized their entire survival. The tension within William then boils down to re-uniting with his unfeeling, rather violent brother, who, months before, at one stroke of their gun-laden hands mutually blew away any semblance of rational reasoning that kept them united in the beginning. Out of Oak Hill, with Zachery just 30 minutes of walking away from the entire mess with brothers facing off in once a minute bursts of a seemingly endless and arduous collision as day dawns and with William relentlessly trying to set their house to pieces prior to his irremovable exit, there's what they call absolute, infinite disillusionment because his intentions were the very one being projected upon Oak Hill by unknown figures running from fear at an unprecedented mile per hour. It might seem an eternity for a few fugitives but their lives boil down to countless minutes right before a near-constant exchange of remorseless bullets leaves one of them desperately yearning to pass over across the quiet and tranquil river dividing two brothers with an innumerable guns that they just never dare open at each other.
