Plot
As the sun sets over 1920s Chicago, two struggling jazz musicians, Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon), find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. Witnessing a gangster's hit, they flee for their lives, disguising themselves as women to escape detection. Enter Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe), a beautiful and charming singer who is leading an all-girl band on a cross-country tour. Joe and Jerry see this as their only chance to lay low and stay one step ahead of the gangsters. They join the band, with Joe posing as "Josephine" and Jerry as "Daphne." As they travel from town to town, Joe and Jerry must navigate their new identities while trying to keep their true selves hidden. Complications arise when Sugar Kane develops a crush on "Josephine," unaware of her masculine disguise. Meanwhile, the band's ukulele player, Osgood (Joe E. Brown), becomes smitten with "Daphne." As the tour progresses, Joe and Jerry find themselves in a series of hilarious misadventures, from dodging gangsters to dealing with Sugar Kane's affections. Despite the chaos, they begin to develop feelings for each other, complicating their already precarious situations.
