Plot
Here is the plot summary of Metropolis: In a futuristic society, the city of Metropolis is divided into two parts: the upper echelon of wealth and power known as the Spire, and the lower depths of poverty and despair. The Spire is home to the elite, who live in luxury and comfort, while the city's underclass toils beneath their feet. When Kenichi and his detective uncle, Shunsaku Ban, arrive in Metropolis, they are on a mission to track down the notorious Dr. Laughton, a mad scientist responsible for a string of mysterious events. As they delve deeper into the city's underbelly, they uncover a web of deceit and corruption that threatens to destroy the fragile social hierarchy. However, their investigation is soon sidetracked by the enigmatic Freder Fredersen, who has inherited his father's title as the Master of Metropolis but struggles with the weight of responsibility. Freder becomes embroiled in the intrigue surrounding Dr. Laughton, and together with Maria, a beautiful and charismatic worker from the underclass, he must navigate the treacherous landscape to uncover the truth. As tensions between the haves and have-nots escalate, Metropolis teeters on the brink of chaos. The lines between class and power begin to blur, and the very fabric of society is torn apart by the struggles for control. Will Kenichi, Shunsaku, Freder, and Maria be able to unravel the mystery behind Dr. Laughton's sinister plans and restore balance to Metropolis, or will the city succumb to the forces of destruction that threaten to consume it?
